Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Mid-Cycle Regional Plan Now Available for Public Comment

The Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Planning Region 10 is comprised of four Workforce Development Boards known as Michigan Works Agencies (MWAs). The four MWAs include the Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation, representing the City of Detroit, Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works!, representing Macomb and St. Clair Counties, Oakland County Michigan Works!, representing Oakland County and the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance (SEMCA) representing, Monroe and Wayne Counties, excluding the City of Detroit.

SEMCA, under the leadership of its Workforce Development Board (WDB) and the Southeast Governmental Alliance (SEGA), is the public workforce system for Monroe and out-Wayne Counties. The 2020-24 WIOA Regional Plan lays out the broad talent needs for the future and helps us make decisions about how we use our system and resources to meet those needs. The WIOA requires each WDB to develop and submit, in partnership with the local Chief Elected Official (CEO), a comprehensive four-year Regional Plan to the State of Michigan. In the case of SEMCA, SEGA is the CEO.

A 30-day period of public comment is required. The WIOA Mid-Cyle Regional Plan is available for viewing here. SEMCA welcomes comments, which should be emailed to or mailed to: 25363 Eureka Rd, Taylor, MI, 48180, Attn: Colleen Mallory.

Comments are due by August 7, 2022.
