SEMCA, under the leadership of its Workforce Development Board (WDB) and the Southeast Governmental Alliance (SEGA), serves as the public workforce system for Monroe and Out-Wayne counties. The 2024-28 Local Plan, along with updated 2024 and 2025 performance measures, outlines the broad talent needs for the future and guides decisions on how we utilize our system and resources to address those needs. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires each WDB, in partnership with the local Chief Elected Official (CEO), to develop and submit a comprehensive four-year plan to the State of Michigan. In SEMCA’s case, SEGA serves as the CEO.

Public Comments Welcome

A 30-day period of public comment is required. The draft local plan is available for viewing here. SEMCA welcomes comments, which should be emailed to wfd@semca.org or mailed to: 25363 Eureka Rd, Taylor, MI, 48180, Attn: Colleen Mallory.

Comments are due by November 29, 2024. The final Plan will be submitted to the State of Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) Workforce Development.
