Welcome to SEMCA Michigan Works! New Americans initiative, a nurturing hub for eligible immigrants, refugees, and asylees. Here, you’ll save time, avoid frustration, and find the tools, knowledge, and resources essential for your journey toward self-sufficiency and smooth integration. What type of resources are provided?
The New Americans team collaborates with a network of providers, resettlement agencies, local, state, and federal government agencies, as well as community partners to deliver resources. These resources include SEMCA’s development programs such as the Partnership. Accountability. Training. Hope. (PATH) and the Skilled Immigration Integration Program (SIIP) designed for immigrants with higher education.
These resources are accessible to eligible individuals and families through a comprehensive assessment process, ensuring personalized and comprehensive support.

Services through SEMCA Michigan Works!
All services are free to those seeking employment, regardless of your job situation, education level, experience or skill level. Job Seekers can access the following services:
- On-site interpretation services are available at all SEMCA's American Job Centers through bilingual staff members or other service providers
- Free access to computers is available at any of our Job Centers for searching Pure Michigan Talent Connect for job openings, posting resumes online, seeking career information, and conducting research on specific industries.
- Information on training in high-demand occupations
- Career assessments
- Employment and career search assistance
- Resume and interviewing workshops
- Specialized services for Veterans with barriers to employment information
