Regardless of immigration status, you can still get health care. This includes emergency room care through Emergency Services Only (ESO) Medicaid, federally qualified health centers or FQHCs (which treat everyone, regardless of immigration status), migrant health centers, free clinics (which you can find here), and public hospitals.

Immigrants of all statuses can access primary health care at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), including for evaluation of COVID-19 symptoms and to obtain a prescription for COVID-19 testing (this is required to access testing sites like the State Fairgrounds).

Below are some FQHCs in the Detroit area that are accepting new patients as of 4/15/20. (Note: There are other health centers listed on the City of Detroit’s website that may be accepting new patients – both insured and uninsured – but not all are FQHCs.)
