SEMCA Michigan Works! is pleased to announce its active participation in the 2023 National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), scheduled from November 13 to 19. This week-long program, in collaboration with industry, labor, education, and government leaders, is dedicated to spotlighting the success and value of Registered Apprenticeship programs. It aims to address workforce challenges and contribute to economic revitalization.
Throughout this event, participants will explore the multi-faceted benefits of establishing a Registered Apprenticeship program. This initiative is designed to demonstrate the pivotal role apprenticeships play in creating a skilled workforce right from the beginning of training, supported by a Department of Labor approved apprenticeship program.
Jennifer Tucker, Workforce Business Liaison at SEMCA Michigan Works! emphasized, “National Apprenticeship Week highlights how apprenticeships empower individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages, providing them with essential skills and knowledge to pursue fulfilling careers.”
